2011 What's New!  (added June 18th)

Hello All... after a busy start to the year with the staging of our local Ag. Shows and our Challenge series, we are pleased to now be able to announce the winners for all divisions.

We once again had good numbers in most divisions, however keeping that in mind it was necessary for horses and riders to be nominated to participate in the Challenge series, so not everyone who participated at these shows was eligible for the awards. Competition was still extremely close however, with us having to do a count-back to determine the winners and/or runners-up for several of the awards!

Congratulations to the following horses and owners on their achievements...

HALTER division.
Winner: 'Concent To Gold N Dreams' (Karen King)
Runner-up: 'Another Royal' (Jill Wagner)

JUNIOR HORSE
Winner: 'Spec of Pepper' (Rebecca Wagner)*
Runner-up: 'Another Royal' (Jill Wagner)

SENIOR HORSE
Winner: 'Royal Heart Throb' (Jill Wagner)
Runner-up: 'Tanamera Kid' (Jenny Blair)

ALL AGED HORSE
Winner: 'Tanamera Kid' (Jenny Blair)*
Runner-up: 'Royal Heart Throb' (Jill Wagner)

YOUTH
Winner: Megan Drew

AMATEUR
Winner: Jenny Blair
Runner-up: Jill Wagner

BEGINNER IMPROVER
Winner: Karen Purcell
Runner-up: Natalie Meredith

Those marked with an * were decided on a count-back.

Once again, congratulations to all our division winners and runners-up, and also to everyone who competed at all of these show! Well done!

We have also now updated some of the details for coming events (listed below), so please jot these dates down on your calendar...

2011 What's On!  (added May 19th)

Hello all. Our apologies for not updating our page for a while!

We've had a busy start to the year with our local Agricultural Shows and a couple of others thrown in for good measure, including two shows at the Exhibition Centre - one of which was an AQHA 'A' Show! All shows were quite well attended and congratulations to all those who participated and took home the awards!

Once again we ran a Challenge Buckle Series over these shows and now that we have the results in from all of them we will be able to tally up the points and announce the winners... so stay tuned!

Congratulations also to those members who competed successfully at the various State and National Shows held in the first part of the year!

In coming months we will be staging some very exciting events, which include the following...

July 2 & 3 - a Saturday Clinic for members with Ann-Maree Mianowany instructing. Cost for participants is $35 (plus $11 arena hire). We require a minimum of 5 riders to cover costs, so please book in early to ensure we can stage this clinic, which will be of value to all members, regardless of their level.

Please CLICK HERE to Book Online for the the Training Day.

On Sunday (3rd), we will be helping the Uralla Pony Club by giving them and Beginner Western Day as a part of their Mini-Camp to be held at the Exhibition Centre. If any members are able to give a helping hand on that day it would be greatly appreciated.

July / August (dates to be confirmed) - there will be some working bees held to try and get our cattle handing facilities completed at the Exhibition Centre to help make it easier for us to stage events and clinics etc.  Details will be advised once known.

September 17 & 18 - The 2nd Annual Armidale Stockmans Challenge!  Two-handed cutting, Working Cowhorse, Indoor Campdraft, Team Penning and Western Versatility!

November 30 & December 1 - We have the honour of hosting one of the worlds finest please horse trainers and instructors in Mark Shaffer from the United States who will be here for a two day Western Horsemanship clinic! Mark has trained and shown numerous World Champions across several breeds and has been running clinics in Australia for several years now and a number of our members have been going to his clinics.  Riding spots at the clinic are limited to just 12 riders. The cost is $400 for the two days for riders and $50 a day for fence sitters, with lunch and refreshments included! There are currently ONLY 4 PLACES LEFT, so please book in early!

December 10th & 11th - Coloured Horse Spectacular, to be held at the Armidale Exhibition Centre. This will have a full program of all our usual performance events on the Saturday, plus Quarter Horse Halter classes, as well as a big program of events (both led and ridden) for all the coloured breeds on the Sunday, including Palomino's, Buckskins & Dilutes, Paints, Pinto's, Appaloosa's, Sportaloosa's and Miniatures.
